On Saturday 1 September 2018, Platt Fields Park will host a new festival, for the people of Manchester, by the people of Manchester. The Festival of Manchester (FOM) will embody all that’s great about being in Manchester and the festival is now recruiting for volunteers to assist with the delivery of the event.
Now in its 7th year, Wythenshawe Games is Manchester’s largest community sports festival, taking in and around Wythenshawe and centering on the beautiful and historic Wythenshawe Park and Hall. As part of this great event volunteers are required to support the 10K Race and the Family Fun Weekend.
Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) is delighted to announce that the Big Lottery Fund has awarded a grant of £299,090 to the charity, to fund the Shared Routes program.
With support from Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the FSI is delivering a heavily subsidised training event in Manchester on 4 October offering small and local charities and community groups four courses on key fundraising and governance topics. Training courses on offer include Developing Your Fundraising Strategy, Legacy Fundraising, Budgets, Management Accounts, and Cash Flow Forecasting, and How to Prepare Your Annual Reports.
Do you need fundraising or governance training for your small charity? Have a tiny budget? With the support of Garfield Weston Foundation, the FSI will be delivering a programme of webinars and class-based training courses over 2018-19 to support small and local based in Manchester.

The three-day event will offer an opportunity for an exchange of ideas and experience among university projects that actively combine research on urban multilingualism with an outreach and public engagement agenda. It will be hosted by the Multilingual Manchester research unit (http://mlm.humanities.manchester.ac.uk/). Confirmed contributors will represent projects based in a variety of universities around the world including Moscow, St Petersburg, Berlin, Edinburgh, London, Sheffield, Melbourne, Sydney, and Graz.
Sport England has awarded Greater Manchester £10m National Lottery funding, having chosen the region as a pilot area to make getting active even easier.
