New Work Placements Programme with the Challenge and Department of Education

The Challenge have recently been commissioned by the Department of Education to design and pilot a new model for student work placements, which the government is planning to roll out nationally as a mandatory requirement for all (~250,000) technical education students by 2020, as part of their newly proposed t-levels.

Free chairs

Manchester City Council have some free chairs to give away which are located at Hulme Hall, in the grounds of Claremont Resource Centre, which is at the junction of Jarvis road and Rolls Crescent in Hulme, M15 5FS. The chairs will need to be collected.

The Best Part is the End! - Community Explorers Story

 ‘You can tell it is a Community Explorers meeting by the noise’. Lots of conversations and networking is the one of the main reasons people attend these community health and care meetings. On Tuesday 19 September, there were 18 participants including Jobcentre Plus, Manchester Carers Forum and the North Manchester Black Health Forum.

Hundreds of thousands of people across the North West have been involved with the organisation in its 120 year history as service users, volunteers, staff and trustees.

Cracking Good Food - Octogenarian Cooking at Manchester Food and Drink Festival

Cracking Good Food will be at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival 4 October, 3pm-5pm at the Festival Hub Albert Square Cooking with octogenarians. 

Come along and taste the food of the Octogenarian Cooks – a group of older people sharing their recipes and cooking skills.

Sporting Memories Groups for People Living With Dementia

Throughout the summer Sporting Memories have been busy building on the Greater Manchester Sporting Memories Network that they have now established. These groups continue to flourish and go from strength to strength, so much so that they are now able to roll out the beginning of the next phase which will involve establishing new groups tailored for people living with dementia.
