Eastlands Regeneration Framework

Since March 2010, Manchester City Council has been working in partnership with the owners of Manchester City Football Club – the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) – to develop a transformational plan for east Manchester focused on the area in and around the Etihad Stadium. This work has been guided by the Eastlands Regeneration Framework, which was approved by Manchester City Council’s Executive in July 2011. Eastlands Regeneration Framework

Local organisation wins Weston Charity Award

Home Start Trafford and Salford was announced as a winner of the Weston Charity Awards at the ceremony on Wednesday 14 June. Along with an unrestricted grant of £6,500, Home Start Trafford and Salford will receive 10-12 months coaching from senior business leaders via national organisation Pilotlight, who have been bringing top business talent together with small charities for over ten years to help charities become bigger, better or more sustainable.

Charlie, a student at the London School of Economics, studying Local Economic Development, who grew up in Manchester and studied for an undergraduate degree in Manchester, is currently writing a Master’s thesis on what prevents communities in Manchester from benefitting from the Cities economic growth and development. Charlie wants to understand how local people and communities in Manchester can benefit more from regional and national economic objectives.

Hate Crime Awareness grants – deadline 14 July 2017

Hate crime has no place in Manchester. Everyone has the right to feel safe and we all have a responsibility to stand against hatred and discrimination. This has always been important and even more so following the Manchester attack. Manchester Community Safety Partnership has funding available to tackle hate crime. This funding has been running for several years and paid for some fantastic events and projects. This is the first year that Macc will be involved in the administration of the programme.

• Private space to accommodate at least 14 staff at any one time
• Ideally some small separate meeting space/training space
• Free parking
• Easily accessible e.g. not city centre but centrally located e.g. Ancoats, Ardwick, Hulme, New Islington, Collyhurst
• Reasonable leasing rates
• Non furnished is fine
• Kitchen and washroom facilities
