I agree: the way we think about charity is dead wrong.

I'm being a bit cheeky calling this one a blog as 99.99% of this page is not by me at all. However, this is a good place to share it.

Below is a talk given by an American activist and fundraiser called Dan Pallotta. He brilliantly sums up some of the attitudes which distort the way the charity sector functions. I heartily agree with a lot of what he says - it's well worth watching. 

Living Longer Living Better Newsletter

The second newsletter of the Living Longer, Living Better programme is now available. Living Longer, Living Better is the Health and Social Care integration strategy for Manchester. The key project is the development of One Team - 12 patch-based integrated health and social care teams. The project is supported by a practitioner design team and the newsletter gives updates on each of the project work-streams.

One Team is Manchester's approach to bringing health and social care staff together to deliver an integrated service in 12 patches across the city. Section 1 outlines the challenges that Manchester faces in terms of health and wellbeing and the key strategies in place to meet those challenges. Section 2 describes the specification and the design parameters.
