A helping hand when money is tight

The Carers Manchester Contact Point is here to help busy carers find the support they need. This is often practical or emotional – but more and more, it’s financial. A fast-moving cost of living crisis means our helpline has seen a jump in calls from carers struggling with food, energy, transport and other basic living costs.

The 1 hour long show will feature local and national charities or not for profit community groups via a pre recoded phone call to promote their work.

“The impact of no recourse to public funds has been on my mind a lot lately. No recourse to public funds (NRPF) is seen as a minority issue but it is a significant cause of poverty so it should be a priority issue for us all. We think that the welfare state is available to all that need help. In reality, there are many people in the UK who do not have an automatic right to that support - the help and support the rest of us take for granted.

Manchester City of Sanctuary provides creative, physical and social activities for refugees and asylum seekers. They are informal sessions posted in a WhatsApp group to come along to if you want to. They are ways to make and see friends, and a respite from difficult circumstances.

Celebrate the wonderful life of Linda Wilson, Moodswings CEO

Moodswings would like to thank their friends, partners and supporters, staff and trustees for all your kind words and support over the past week, regarding the passing of their CEO Linda Wilson.

All are welcome to Linda's funeral, which will take place at 3pm, on 7 September, at Blackley Crematorium, Victoria Avenue, Manchester, M9 8PJ.
