Age Proud: Exploring Positive Ageing (GMOPN Event)

Registration is closed for this event

On Wednesday the 2nd of October 2019, the Greater Manchester Older People's Network will be holding its next network event: Age Proud: Exploring Positive Ageing.

Come along and listen to a range of speakers, including Joyce Williams, aka Grandma williams and representatives from the “Talking About my Generation” campaign.  There will also be updates about the recent work of the older people’s network, including our project on Positive Ageing Imagery and an opportunity to hear a whistling performance by the world champion whistler David Morris!

In the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in our workshop:  “Changing the Narrative on Ageing”. We will be exploring ideas and myths about ageing that are currently encouraged by some media and seeking to develop a more positive narrative.  What stories do you think we should be telling about ageing?

A free buffet lunch will be provided for all attendees. We can also support with arranging transport to and from the venue if required.

You must be a member of the Greater Manchester Older People's Network to attend this event. If you are not already a member please complete our membership form here before registering.
