Cost Benefit Analysis

Date & Time of Training:
Thu, 23/02/2012 - 10:00 - 16:00
Venue:
CLES, 1 George Leigh Street, Manchester, M4 5DL

This course is designed to give delegates and organisations an introduction to the process of Cost Benefit Analysis.

With increasing pressure on public spending, CBA is increasingly being used as a tool in public and social sectors to understand the cost effectiveness of different initiatives in order to assess the case for a project, programme or policy proposal.

The course provides an overview of the tools, skills and approaches to CBA, and will enable delegates to develop basic systems and processes to deliver assessment within their organisation.

Topics covered include:

  • Outline of programme/project development and appraisal.
  • Overview of the programme/project lifecycle.
  • Techniques for options assessment, assessing and managing risks.
  • Exploring different concepts and models for measuring and evaluating costs, benefits and impacts.
  • Development of a simple but robust cost/benefit tool and applied examples of CBA.

A 20% early bird discount is available on all courses booked before the end of February 2012.

Course fees include detailed reference materials, refreshments and buffet lunch.
