An introduction to involving volunteers in your project / organisation in a way which is not only safe and reflective of good practice, but a innovative, engaging and attractive for volunteers.
It is suitable for people in organisations new to involving volunteers or organisations that already involve volunteers informally and want to take a more structured approach.
It will cover:
- Creating volunteer roles
- Policies and Procedures
- The barriers potential volunteers face to getting involved
- Involving young volunteers
- Problem solving
- Creating an action plan for your organisation

Anybody who wants to start involving volunteers or wishes to develop their volunteer programme.

This course will help your organisation
a) identify where to go to recruit volunteers for your organisation
b) how to keep them interested once they have come through the door
It will include a section on using modern technology (including the internet, mobile phones and social networking sites), to add value to your volunteer programme and volunteers' experiences.
It will cover:

- How to support your volunteers
- How to resolve problems
- Using modern technology to recruit and retain volunteers - Facebook, Twitter, Texting etc.
- Targeting young volunteers
