Manchester Mind believes that everyone has value: something to offer and that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and they have a part to play in that.
Manchester Mind does this by providing a range of services across Manchester to young people and adults. A valuable part of this work has been the provision of services to children and young people from our YASP offices in Levenshulme. The holistic mix of services delivered includes: advice, volunteering, mentoring and counselling. An important part of this work is enabling young people to be involved in all aspects of the services from design and development to delivery – of training and mentoring and running the internet café which provides an important access point to the services.
The Peer-Led Services Team Leader will be a key role in ensuring that young people are involved in a meaningful way and which leads to feeling accepted, understood and able to contribute and improved mental health outcomes
Manchester Mind would like to work with someone who is experienced, dynamic and passionate about being able to develop this element of the service for children and young people.
The skills and knowledge that are important are:
• Being able to work in an open, supportive and collaborative way
• Experience of working with young people
• Experience of working with and developing volunteering services
