Citizen Advocate Volunteers needed at Mencap

11 Aug 2011 - 13:45 by michelle.foster

Would you like to share your interests and make a real difference in someone’s life?

Manchester mencap is a local charity associated to National Mencap but doesn’t receive any funding from them. Manchester mencap represent the rights and interests of people with a learning disability and their carers.

Manchester mencap are looking for volunteer Citizen Advocates to support people who have a learning disability who live in the Manchester area.

Citizen Advocates are volunteers who get to know a person with a learning disability through shared interests and activities. With the strengthening of this relationship they help to promote, protect and defend the person’s rights and interests.

Experience isn’t necessary as training will be provided.

If you think you have got what it takes to make a difference and would like to find out more about Citizen Advocacy, contact Hazel, on 0161 437 9465.
