Food For All

19 Aug 2016 - 11:12 by michelle.foster

Food For All is a small project that is part of Manchester Mind. Their aim is to improve people’s mental and physical wellbeing by supporting them to eat better food, to feel more confident about cooking it, and to connect with others during cooking sessions.

Food For All run 4, 6 and 8 week cooking courses targeted at people who have a history of poor mental health or who currently have mental health issues. These sessions are relaxed and informal; all about supporting people to support each other and to share their knowledge.

Food For All are looking for community groups or organisations who think that their members would benefit from cooking courses. Food For All provide the support, the ingredients and some equipment, all for free. What Food For All need is a suitable venue (a reasonably sized community space is fine, but they do need hot running water as a minimum) and some enthusiastic attendees.

At the moment Food For All have capacity to run courses from September through to the end of March, so if you think your organisation would be interested, contact Alice, on 0161 769 5732, or email: [email protected].
