Healthier Together Public Consultation launch

24 Jul 2014 - 14:13 by michelle.foster

A major review of the future of Greater Manchester’s health and care services has been launched. Led by the 12 Greater Manchester Clinical Commissioning Groups, the Healthier Together programme is reviewing health and care across the region with the aim of making sure that local people have the best health and care in the country.

They want to deliver the best health and care in the country for the people of Greater Manchester which is why their vision proposes better access to GPs, better services in the community and hospitals sharing their expert clinicians across boundaries.

All Greater Manchester residents are invited to get involved by registering their views and opinions online, or by attending one of the Best Care listening events. The consultation finishes on 30 September 2014. To find out more visit: www.bestcaregm.nhs.uk

The consultation is set out into 4 sections which include:
• How primary care is changing - this refers to the services you get from GP surgeries, as well as dentists, pharmacists and opticians
• How we are joining up care - this refers to how health and care organisations working together can deliver services locally
• How hospital services could change - this refers to all hospitals in Greater Manchester providing the safest and highest quality of care to all patients every time
• The eight hospital options for organising our hospitals - this refers to how the options have been chosen for the proposed changes

It’s really important that as many people as possible within Manchester are aware of the proposals and have the opportunity to feed in their views. There are a number of ways in which you can do this:
