The Manchester Christmas Dinner (for Care Leavers) needs YOU!

14 May 2019 - 14:12 by michelle.foster

Every year, a group of volunteers passionate about creating a magical Christmas day for Care Leavers aged 18-25 come together from September to plot, plan and perfect the event – and this year, you’re help is needed!

From recruiting guests, choosing and buying gifts, coordinating transport to deciding on décor –new members are needed to join the Steering Group. The Steering Group meets once a month from September – December, and you’d work in small groups to ensure the experience is the best it can be for the guests – who have experience of being in Foster or Residential Care, and would otherwise be spending the day on their own.

So if you have skills/expertise/contacts or enthusiasm which you could bring to the group – the Steering Group would love to have you on board working with them this year to make the 2019 Christmas Dinner the best yet!

An information event is being held on 1 July, 6-7pm at the University of Manchester where you can meet current Steering Group members and find out more. You can register for the event here: www.facebook.com/events/393381834587620/
