Manchester Relief in Need, Children's Relief in Need and Manchester District Nursing Institution funds

The Manchester Relief in Need, Children's Relief in Need and Manchester District Nursing Institution funds are to help Manchester-based third sector groups who are working with individuals and families in need.

The Trustees meet at the end of each month to provide funding to organisations who are working directly with people in need. The purpose is to provide crisis grants to those individuals or families up to a max of £500 (in most cases) for specific items such as white goods, furniture household items, clothes, medical equipment etc. Applications need to be submitted by the 15 of every month.

The fund also provide grants to organisations once a year for up to £5,000 for projects that directly provide relief to the need of individuals/families, applications need to be submitted by 15 March 2019.

Manchester Children’s Relief In Need Fund
Aims/priorities: The majority of grants awarded are for individuals. The Trustees award grants that provide a ‘Relief in Need’ for children and young people living in the City of Manchester.
Who can apply? Individuals
Grant amount: Grants awarded tend to range between £50-£500
Application process: All applications for a grant for an individual must be submitted by a professional person on their behalf such as a Social Worker, Health Visitor, Teacher or other professional as appropriate
Deadline: Applications should be submitted before the 15th of the month

Manchester District Nursing Institution Fund
Aims/priorities: The majority of grants awarded are for individuals. Grants may be made for the relief of people living in the City of Manchester, Salford or Trafford who are on low income and are sick, convalescent or disabled, which are calculated to alleviate their suffering or assist in their recovery.
Who can apply? Individuals
Grant amount: Grants awarded tend to range between £50-£500
Application process: All applications for a grant for an individual must be submitted by a professional person on their behalf such as a Social Worker, Health Visitor, Teacher or other professional as appropriate.
Deadline: Applications should be submitted before the 15th of the month

Manchester Relief In Need Fund
Aims/priorities: The majority of grants awarded are for individuals. The Trustees  award grants that provide a ‘Relief in Need’ for adults living in the City of Manchester. The provision of the scheme gives the Trustees a wide choice in the kind of relief they can provide.
