Manchester Single Hospital Service Update - March 2017

4 Apr 2017 - 10:27 by helen.walker

Good progress is being made to create a New Manchester-wide hospital trust according to the March 2017 Single Hospital Service Programme Bulletin.

In September 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will join with the Universty Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust to form a new foundation trust. This will then be joined by North Manchester General Hospital, currently part of the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, 12-18 months later. The aim of this programme is to standardise care across the city and will bring the opportunity to increase research and education in the region, reduce duplication, integrate patient record systems, and recruit and retain the best staff.

The update also asks for views about the name of the new trust and gives you an oppotunity to give your views about the future shape of the trust via a short survey. A copy of the update is attached below.
