Mind Your Money Project

22 Apr 2013 - 14:22 by michelle.foster

Free training courses are available about coping with benefit changes, better money management and accessing the right financial services.

Mind your money is working across Manchester to give social housing residents the skills and confidence they need to access affordable financial services without being forced to resort to loan sharks or payday loans.

The programme will support jobseekers and people returning to work in Manchester to help them become more financially aware and more confident in money management. Tenants will be able to access a training course at a convenient location.

When it comes to money matters, social housing tenants are often the most vulnerable and in need. Many find themselves without access to products and services like bank accounts or contents insurance.

To be eligible to attend the training course, you must
• be aged 18 or over
• live in a social housing property
• live in Manchester
• have started work or have become unemployed in the last 12 months
• work part time or don’t have a steady wage
