Research on White Working Class in Higher Blackley

Amina Lone and Dan Silver of SARF have produced, for Open Society Foundations, a must-read report about white working class people living in Higher Blackley. Based on focus groups and interviews, it gives a fascinating insight into an increasingly marginalised and maligned majority dealing with insecure and low-paid work, political disenfranchisement, and demonisation in the media. Despite the pressures there remains a strong sense of identity and solid social bonds and connections and many strengths that could be built on.
