Young Adult Advice & Support Project (YASP) has been successful in receiving a three year grant through Reaching Communities and YASP will be making a public announcement of this at the start of October. YASP are all very pleased that we will be able to continue to deliver services for 15-25 year olds.

There will be a number of changes in service delivery from October 2011. There will be some interim changes whilst the new Reaching Communities project at YASP is implemented.

The changes are:

• YASP café will be closed from 5 September and will re-open on 26 September. When the café is reopened there will be improved IT facilities and slightly changed opening hours.

• YASP’s open access advice drop-in will be suspended for a month. The last advice drop-in will be on Wednesday 24 August. The advice drop-in will reopen on Wednesday 5 October 2011.

• YASP’s Casework Service will be substantially reorganised. From 24 August YASP will only be providing complex social welfare casework to 15-18 year olds. Casework for over 18 year olds will be delivered through the HARP Advice Team, based at the Zion Community Centre in Hulme.

• YASP will not be inducting new volunteers over the summer. However, there will be an extended programme of volunteer opportunities from 1 October 2011. Further information about this development will be released in the autumn.
