State of the City reports 2010/2011

These annual reports provide a comprehensive evidence base to inform decisions to improve the city. The reports also provide a progress update on the State of the City indicator framework within the Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement.

The State of the City 2010/11 Report
This report is a position statement on Manchester’s current performance, assessing whether things are improving or not across key areas and priorities.

The report has three main purposes:
• To better understand the performance of the city
• To understand from the evidence base what the priorities are for the future
• To inform strategic commissioning based on current and future priorities – so the report should inform business planning across key organisations of the Manchester Partnership

The State of the Wards 2010/11 Report
This report presents an overview of performance at ward and neighbourhood level and highlights progress in a number of areas across the city, so that there is a better understanding of where improvement effort needs to be targeted.

The report has two main purposes:
• to understand issues at ward and neighbourhood level,
• and to inform priorities for the future.
