Due to demand Manchester Histories (MH) is extending the deadline to submit events to be part of the next Manchester Histories Festival (MHF) to 5pm on Friday 26 February 2016.

With over 190 events and 25,000 visitors in 2014, the 4th MHF will return across Greater Manchester from the 3 to 12 June 2016 with the Manchester Celebration Day at Manchester Town Hall on Saturday 11 June 2016.

From music, film, comedy, debate, talks, performance, walking tours, and exhibitions, plus much more MHF2016 is sure to feature something for everyone whether people would describe themselves as history fans or not. (In 2014 65% of attenders were new to the venue they visited and a similar figure were non-regular cultural attendees).

MHF is delivered by Manchester Histories, a small charity whose purpose is transforming lives through histories and heritage by working in collaborative partnerships with communities, individuals and organisations across Greater Manchester. Through the festival MH aims to the reveal and celebrate histories and heritage, and MH are giving extra time for any organisations, venues, groups and individuals who want to be part of the festival in 2016 to submit their events on the website: www.manchesterhistoriesfestival.org.uk/getinvolved/putonaevent

MH is also calling for applications for exhibition stands at the MHF 2016 Celebration Day on Saturday 11 June in Manchester Town Hall. In 2014, the Celebration Day welcomed over 4,000 people to the one-day event that marks the final weekend of the 10-day festival. Exhibition stands celebrate and share aspects of the histories and heritage of Greater Manchester. Past exhibitors have included Alliance Française de Manchester, Community Arts North West, the Peak and Northern Footpaths Association and the Royal Northern College of Music, to name but a few. The deadline to apply for a stand is: Friday 26 February 2016, 5pm.
