Two social media competitions for I Love Small Charities Day

9 May 2014 - 10:16 by michelle.foster

Small Charity Week launches with I Love Small Charities Day – a day to raise awareness of the work of all small charities across the UK, whether you take part in one of the competitions below or carry out your own activity.

There are two competitions to help raise the profile of small charities, which includes a cash prize for the winning small charities.

Competition 1: I Love Small Charities Day Facebook Campaign – Win a £200 prize
Ask your supporters, beneficiaries, friends and family and anyone else you know to post their message of support for your small charity on the Small Charity Week Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/smallcharityweek

For example ‘I Love the FSI because they support thousands of small charities’

Messages will be accepted from 16-22 June. The charity with the most messages of support by the end of the week will win the cash prize.

The rules are:
• The message is in the form of a comment on the Small Charity Week Facebook page (not a private message)
• One message to be submitted per supporter
• The comment must include the name of the small charity (this ensures they can track the number of messages for each charity accurately)
• The comment should include a reason why they love the small charity
• Only messages submitted from the 16 June- 22 June will be counted

Competition 2: I Love Small Charities Day Twitter Campaign – Win a £200 prize
Get your supporters, friends, family and neighbours to say why they love your charity from the 16-22 June on Twitter. The charity with the most messages of support by the end of the week wins the cash prize.

Example “I love @XXXX because they work tirelessly to help disabled children #ILoveSmallCharities”.

The rules are:
• Messages must contain the @name for your small charity and #ILoveSmallCharities to enable them to count all the messages that have come in
• Messages must be kept within 140 characters
• The message must include a reason why they love your small charity
• Only messages submitted from the 16 - 22 June will be counted

Other ways to show you love small charities
1. Run your own event for your small charity – Small Charity Week will promote this for you on their website
2. Change your Twitter / Social media pictures to the Small Charity Week logo
3. Join the Small Charity Week Thunderclap
