The University of Manchester Freedom to Work workshops

The University of Manchester and Business in the Community would like to invite you to a series of workshops that will help you to understand what you need to do next to get a good job that is right for you.

The University of Manchester is the largest employer in Manchester and is keen to help people from all walks of life to benefit from the jobs that are available at The University and with their business partners.

Jobs are available in sectors including: Hospitality and catering; Building and facilities management; Construction; Business administration and more.

The workshops will give you the chance to meet friendly managers from different departments and to build your confidence in applying for jobs. 

As part of the group, you will get the opportunity to:
• Go behind the scenes to meet the managers and find out what it’s like to work at The University of Manchester
• Have Careers Conversations and get advice and guidance to help you to get on the right track
• Get help in understanding what you need to do next to become job ready
• Learn how you can develop your skills and access training
• Understand how work experience can help you to get a good job and find out how you can access work placements
• Find out what jobs are available and get help with the application process

Workshops will be held at The University of Manchester from 11am till 1pm on: Thursday 17 January, Thursday 24 January, Tuesday 29 January, Thursday 7 February, Thursday 14 February, Thursday 21 February.

Participants are encouraged to attend all of the sessions.

Lunch and travel costs can be provided.
