You are never too old to start Acting Up

16 Oct 2015 - 11:27 by michelle.foster

Kaleidoscope are looking for older people in the North West region of the UK to try Acting Up! This October theatre company Kaleidoscope are launching a new initiative aimed at encouraging and supporting more older people across the UK to get involved in drama and the performing arts. The initiative which is called Acting Up will support senior citizens across the UK to set up their own Acting Up groups.

The groups may be completely new or formed from within an existing organization or company. The new Acting Up groups will get all sorts of support from Kaleidoscope including access to specially commissioned plays for older actors and the opportunity to attend special training courses and workshops with professional actors, writers and directors. The Acting Up groups will also get the chance to perform in a professional theatre as part of the Acting Up Theatre Festival.

Best of all there are no costs for older people taking part in Acting Up thanks to the support of the Big Lottery Fund.

Right now Kaleidoscope are looking for groups and individuals in the North West region of England who are keen to participate in this incredible programme. If you are over the age of sixty and you are interested in getting involved in Acting Up or would like some more information visit the Kaleidoscope website: www.kaleidoscopeni.com, or email: [email protected].
