Policy and Influence

About us

The Policy and Influence team at Macc is dedicated to amplifying the voices of VCSE organisations serving diverse communities that make up Manchester. Our goal is to ensure that the design and implementation of services and policies reflect the needs of the VCSE sector and the individuals it supports. We strive for the sector to be acknowledged as a vital strategic partner by local authorities and statutory bodies.

We achieve this by bringing the VCSE sector and key partners together, collecting and sharing knowledge and insights to foster learning and best practices, as well as representing and advocating for our communities.

The Policy and Influence team is both proactive and responsive, ensuring that the realities faced by VCSE organisations and the concerns of Manchester’s communities – things that matter to them, are reflected in and central to our priorities and workstreams.

Our focus encompasses health and wellbeing, social economy and inclusive growth, poverty reduction, the promotion of Real Living Wage, children and young people, community cohesion and safety, housing and climate action, equity and inclusion, along with the interrelated themes that arise.

However, as a team, we continuously monitor developments in the sector and the issues that impact our organisations, and we are always eager to hear about any topics that we should prioritise or focus on. The adaptable and responsive nature of our team enables us to stay engaged. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything you’d like us to consider or bring to our attention.
