Child O1 is baby of 3 months was admitted to hospital with injuries that were consistent with having been shaken.  Mother and baby resided at a mother and baby unit and both baby and sibling were on child protection plans due to the witnessing of domestic violence.  Serious injuries were sustained and Mother charged with Section 18 assault.

Introduction to Safeguarding Children and Young People

Course Description
This is a one-day course delivered by members of the Manchester Safeguarding Children Board Training Pool. You should attend this course if you are in contact with children and young people and with adults who are parents and carers.

This course covers the mandatory requirements of basic awareness training required for all those working with children and young people. It should be refreshed every 3 years. Completion of this course meets the entry level requirements for all other MSCB courses.

MSAB Self Neglect and Hoarding Strategy Launch

Course Description

The MSAB Self-Neglect and Hoarding Strategy and Toolkit has been completed with the input of multi-agency practitioners and strategic leads.  The launch of this strategy and toolkit will include a hoarding specialist speaker, update on learning from Self-Neglect SARs, workshops and networking

Priority for places will be given to front-line managers and those that will cascade back to their agencies, teams and services.

Free Safeguarding Children and Adults e-Learning Courses

Manchester Safeguarding Children Board and Manchester Safeguarding Adult Board have joined up with Virtual College's Safeguarding e-Academy to offer online training in a range of safeguarding topics.

Online courses are free to all our Partner agencies who work with children and / or their families, or adults in Manchester.

A charge of £25.00 per course will apply to private and profit making organisations.
