Peter Quinn Friendship Group – New dementia café opened

The Peter Quinn Friendship Group opened a new dementia café on Wednesday 14 September 2016 at St. Mary’s Parish Centre, Elbow Street, Levenshulme, Manchester, M19 3PY.

Marion Quinn, Manager of St. Mary’s Parish Centre has opened the Drop in/Friendship Group in memory of her father which she lost to Dementia with Lewy Bodies in April.

The group will meet every Wednesday from 10am - 1pm in the Lounge area of the parish centre on a regular basis.

Postcode Dream Trust – The Dream Fund 2017

The Dream Fund is asking charitable organisations across Great Britain to think big, be ambitious and collaborate with other not-for-profit partners to deliver their dream project.

Home Office - Project Innovation Fund

In support of HM Government’s Prevent Strategy, the aim of this competition is to find innovative ways to prevent vulnerable people from becoming radicalised to support or carry out terrorism. This is part of HM Government’s Prevent Strategy.

The Home Office has allocated up to £1.5 million to fund innovation projects in this competition. All proposals must involve an organisation that leads the project.

CMFT Disabled People’s User Forum – Involvement Opportunity

Help us showcase the work of Manchester’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector

Our State of the Sector Survey in 2013 found that there were 3,093 voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in Manchester, with an estimated income of £477 million. The sector employed the equivalent of 12,400 full time staff and 94,300 volunteers gave 370,000 hours, with an estimated value of £332 million. Decision makers took note of the survey results, we know it increased their understanding of the sector. Some of the key facts (3093 organisations, 94,300 volunteers) are now widely quoted by colleagues in the Council, the NHS and other bodies such as Big Lottery Fund.

Manchester’s Spirit Story week is nearly here!

Next week, over 35 Manchester voluntary sector organisations will be involved in Spirit Story, a week-long campaign to provide a snapshot of how our work makes a difference to people and communities across the city.

Grant to support street based services for rough sleepers

Manchester’s Community Safety Partnership will award £20,000 to be used to co-ordinate and improve the delivery of safe and effective street based services to rough sleepers in the City of Manchester. These street based services provide a range of support to rough sleepers in the City, which include, but is not limited to the provision of:
• Food
• Clothes
• Tents
• Sleeping bags
