Care Quality Commission Older People's campaign

On 29 March the Care Quality Commission (CQC)launched a campaign to encourage older people and their loved ones to feedback about the quality of health and social care they have received.

CQC are encouraging older people to feedback on their care, as research has shown that older people are far less likely to complain about services and are less aware of the ways they can share their views.

Chancellor’s Funding Boost for Women’s Charities

Charities across Greater Manchester that support women offenders and those at risk of offending are celebrating after being awarded £375,000. Greater Manchester Women Offenders Alliance made a bid for money from the Governments £12 million ‘Tampon Tax’ Fund, which is an amount equivalent to VAT receipts from sanitary products each year.

Her major concern is that  "in attempting to achieve universality of services across Greater Manchester we will see a race to the bottom rather than an improvement in provision across the board".

Friends of Wythenshawe Hall are raising £250,000 to repair the much loved Wythenshawe Hall that was damaged due to a fire in the early hours of Tuesday 15 March.

Friends of Wythenshawe Hall are a group of like-minded people who have a passion for Wythenshawe Hall and park who come from all walks of life, in fact one of the members, Richard Jackson, the current Chair of the committee, is a direct descendant of the Tatton family.
