The People's Powerhouse recent Racial Justice and Housing event heard from diverse perspectives on the intersection of racial justice and housing. Speakers and attendees held in-depth discussions on the reality of seeking asylum in the UK and the systemically racist underpinnings of the housing system.
Charities, role models and community heroes will be honoured at the 2023 ceremony showcasing their outstanding devotion to enhancing equality, diversity and inclusion; thus embracing the excellence of all our citizens irrespective of race, faith, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability and culture. Black and minority community-led charities and organisations working with children and young people at risk of becoming involved in violence can apply for emergency funding to mitigate the effects of the inflation and cost of living crises.
Charities and CICs with an annual income between £25,000 - £500,000 can apply for grants of £75,000. This funding programme is for organisations working with people experiencing inequity because of their race or ethnicity. To be eligible for this programme, your organisation will be led by the communities you serve.

The Reclaim Black Heritage Fund has grants available for up to £4,000 for projects that would benefit the black community and commemorate 1981. The funding is open to black-led groups and individuals that are in line with the 81 Acts Humanifesto.
Your project can be whatever you want it to be, so long as it is creative, engaging, and seeks to honour the principles of the Humanifesto.

This research is being carried out by members of the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group (MUARG) based at the University of Manchester. The group have been involved in a range of projects over the past two decades, developing innovative research on the lives of older people living in areas where there is often a mix of low incomes and poor housing.
