Together they make up the Manchester Safeguarding Boards and their role is to coordinate and ensure effective safeguarding across the city of Manchester.

Localgiving have announced that this year's Grow Your Tenner campaign will launch at 10am on Tuesday 11 December 2018. The campaign will run until the match funding is fully allocated or 12am on Thursday 10 January – whichever comes first.
This year Localgiving are putting a particular emphasis on encouraging people to become long term supporters of their local charities. With this in mind, Localgiving will match monthly donations for a full 6 months for donors who set up a direct debit to a Localgiving member for a year.
The Centre for Social Action has partnered with the Centre for Ageing Better to launch the Age-friendly and inclusive volunteering fund. The fund has been set up to develop and document models of good practice in supporting older people’s voluntary and community activity. 
This year’s Local Charities Day will take place on 14 December. Each year Local Charities Day shines a spotlight on the incredible work local charities do to build healthy and happy local communities. Local Charities Day builds on the work of the recently published Civil Society Strategy, where the Government committed to enhancing relationships between businesses, charities and local areas, to help communities grow.
The University of Manchester has a Student Experience Internship scheme which provides funding to pay for a limited number of students to undertake an eight week summer internship within organisations in the charity and not-for-profit sector in Manchester.

The Inter Faith Youth Trust is launching a new grant programme for young people’s organisations to hold inter faith events or activities in the Greater Manchester area. May 2019 will mark two years since the bombing at the Manchester Arena. The focus of the project is to highlight the good that can come from different communities working together in friendship. Grants are for between £200 to £1,000. 
The Nationwide Building Society Community Grants programme is now open for applications. Charities, Community Land Trusts and housing co-operatives can apply for grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 to make a change in your local area. The applications will be reviewed and voted on by a regional Community Board, made up of Nationwide members, colleagues and local housing charities. And it’s more than just money, the funded projects will also get community and volunteering support.
The Office for Civil Society has launched a Digital Leadership Fund, with the goal of improving skills among charity Chief Executives, trustees and senior teams, by scaling a number of existing digital leadership training programmes that already support leaders in the social sector.
