Manchester City Council’s Money Matters Team hit the road this autumn, armed with tips and tricks to help residents with the cost-of-living crisis.
Applications for grant funding are invited from registered charities, community groups and voluntary organisations working to assist individuals who are disadvantaged, sick, have a disability and/or living in poverty within Greater Manchester. The priorities are:
Funding from the Chronicle Cinderella Home Fund is available for individuals or organisations to support the costs of respite care and support (including but not limited to the provision of holidays) for the benefit of children and young people under the age of 25 who are sick, convalescent, have special educational needs or are disadvantaged for any other reason.
AFRUCA is a national charity promoting the well-being and protection of children and families in Black and ethnic communities in the UK. The County Lines Child Trafficking Family Support service has been established in response to the growing problem of child criminal exploitation across Manchester.
Warburtons has announced the next set of deadlines for its Community Grants programme. The scheme offers small grants of up to £400 to not-for-profit organisations with charitable purposes that are operating in England, Scotland and Wales.
Employees of Warburtons are also able to apply on behalf of organisations if they are actively involved with them (e.g., they are a volunteer, trustee or active supporter).
The major funder has made significant changes to how it will deliver funding schemes in the coming years.

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority has launched a new online resource to help guide residents to support available in their area, covering a variety of topics including help with food bills, energy, childcare costs, pension credit top-up, help with transport costs, mental health and well-being (including gambling harm) and digital inclusion.
The Department for Work and Pensions has put together a Cost of Living Toolkit for stakeholders and employers. It includes information on how to talk about help for households and the cost of living payments and FAQs.
