Improving Specialist Care Programme – information on Improving Specialist Care Patient and Public Reference Group

Greater Manchester took charge of health and social care spending and decision making three years ago aiming to achieve the biggest, fastest improvement to the health and wellbeing in our region.

This was done because it is known that good health and wellbeing are crucial to make Greater Manchester one of the best places in the world to grow up, get on and grow old. Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership are proud of the progress they have made, however, there is still more to do.

University of Manchester research study – lung health checks and smoking

ResearchAre you aged 55-80? Are you a current smoker or have you quit in the last 3 months? If you answered yes to both questions, the University of Manchester want to hear from you.

As part of the study you will be asked what you think about services to help people stop smoking in healthcare. Participants will not be asking to quit smoking – the study is just to find out what you think.

CDI Counselling – limited free counselling offer

CDI CounsellingCDI Counselling are offering limited free counselling for people who are unemployed or economically inactive.  Individuals must be 16 or over and legally resident in the UK. Counselling is available for individuals or couples experiencing a range of mental health issues. Home-counselling can be arranged for those with mobility problems. Bilingual counsellors are available in Urdu and Punjabi.

Can-Survive UK provides culturally sensitive support and information to people living with and beyond cancer, their families and carers. They are running the following support groups:

Coffee Connect Chat
Have you or anyone else close to you been affected by cancer? Would you like to meet with other people in similar circumstances?
Can-Survive UK welcomes you to a fortnightly Coffee, Connect and Chat support group. Join for board games, dominoes, sewing and knitting, information or just simply a drink and chat. Refreshments provided.

Psychological Safety in the Workplace

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership have been working with Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust on a baseline workforce survey to capture a snapshot on thoughts and experiences of ‘Psychological Safety in the Workplace’.

This survey has been designed to understand how psychologically safe you feel as an individual within your team, and workplace. This includes the environment that your team leader creates, the beliefs that you hold about your team, and finally the behaviours that you see within the teams you work with.
