Peter Stebbings Memorial Charity
The Peter Stebbings Memorial Charity makes grants to UK registered charities, for work in the UK and overseas. Projects in the UK should fall into the following categories: Medical research and care; Social welfare; Homelessness; Hospices; Mental health/counselling; Drug and alcohol therapeutic support; Offender support; Community regeneration; and Vulnerable families, women and children. Greater Manchester Youth Network is recruiting for trustees to join their board
Would you like to join Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN trustee board? Adopting a Child
Monday 16 October marks the start of this year’s National Adoption Week.  Outstanding Independent Adoption Agency Caritas Care is looking for families in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas for children who wait longer to find their forever home.  They are particularly keen to speak to people who would consider adoption for children who: are over 4 years of age; are in a sibling group of 2, 3…or 4; are from the BAME community; and need additional emotional or physical needs. The See More, Learn More, Go Further Greater Manchester Project
The See More, Learn More, Go Further Project is a Greater Manchester initiative led by the NHS aimed at encouraging children to have regular eye sight tests as currently only 1 in 5 children have had their eyes tested. Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership have liaised with opticians, pharmacies, GP surgeries and dental practices in the GM area to promote a collaborative approach to the campaign by providing an e-resource pack. The Feel Good Stay Well Club
Come and join friendly residents for fun, fitness and friendship. Together Dementia Support will be offering a range of activities aimed at keeping you physically and mentally active on Wednesdays 1.30pm-3.30pm at Auden Court off Toledo St, Clayton, M11 4WD.  The Feel Good Stay Well Club is a project run in partnership between Guinness Housing and Together Dementia Support. Out to Lunch with Silver Seniors
Out to Lunch with Silver Seniors is a new weekly radio show on Wythenshawe FM 97.2, launching on Monday 30 October. It will be on from 12pm to 2pm. The show will include interviews with helpful agencies and groups, feature community centres, nursing homes, care homes, and a sing-a- long spot. Read more

GM Poverty Action: Our economy; Food Poverty; Connect into your Community: Breakthrough; Salford Poverty Truth Commission; and the Living Wage
In the latest Greater Manchester Poverty Action (GMPA) newsletter they comment on our economy and ask if Greater Manchester could take the lead in a more human-centred economy; GMPA look at loneliness among disabled people and share information about Breakthrough’s ‘Let’s have a good week’ project; GMPA feature the story and the thoughts of one of the Salford Poverty Truth Commissioners and there is the regular Living Wage column.
