Grace Incorporation Faith Trust (G.I.F.T)

GIFT logo

Over the last ten years G.I.F.T has introduced and developed a number of key services as an organisation. They provide mentoring programmes for young people at risk of underachieving and falling out of the education system with little or no qualification. In particular they work with those at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). Service users and staff or volunteers may include ex-offenders.

The main service is G.I.F.T Academy which primarily provides a culturally sensitive service to the local community of Moss Side, Hulme and Old Trafford offering learning support which address the needs of young people aged between 8 to 16 years or older. The young people are mainly from diverse ethnic communities with over 40% being from African Caribbean backgrounds where the national average achieve low educational achievement.

G.I.F.T is committed to improving the lives of young people to overcome barriers that may be holding them back. Understanding the individual needs by having a good rapport and developing lasting relationships, based on mutual trust and respect for all persons involved with G.I.F.T.

How G.I.F.T has changed my Life

"Being given the chance to work with and alongside such a dedicated team of people has been a wonderful experience for me. I was at a real low point in my life when I first came here as a volunteer but their commitment, drive and overwhelming desire to make life better and in some cases achievable for people has been at the very least an eye-opener. GIFT is a place where you will be given that chance to begin your own journey or be the one giving someone else a chance to start theirs, there is actually nothing better than that for that in itself is a gift - it’s a win-win situation!" Janice

“Before joining G.I.F.T I wasn’t a very confident person, I had drifted from job to job without any thought of direction I maybe going in. I have done training and courses and loads of voluntary work, trying to decide, which career path I should take. Since joining G.I.F.T I have grown in confidence and don’t feel like I am drifting from place to place, I am being accepted for who I am. This is the first time I have felt like this, throughout the little work experience I have had.” Louise
