28 Mar 2014 - 10:50 by michelle.foster

A quarter of a million pounds is available for community and neighbourhood projects across the North West in areas where Adactus Housing Group have properties.

The Neighbourhood Fund has now been running since 2010 and at least £200,000 has been available every year for community projects. In 2013 the Adactus Housing Group supported over 200 projects across the North West.

The funding is judged by Adactus Housing Group tenants and is aimed at small scale community projects and has been used to support gardening and greening projects; activities for young and old; employment and training and energy efficiency projects.

Ged Glynn, Adactus tenant from East Manchester and Neighbourhood Fund judge said ‘It’s great that Adactus have relaunched the Neighbourhood Fund. As a judge I get to see the range of projects that Adactus fund and it’s good to see money going back into the community’.

Andrew Coady, Community Engagement Manager from Adactus Housing Association said ‘it’s an exciting time of year. I am delighted that we are running the Neighbourhood Fund again this year and I am looking forward to see what a difference some of the projects will make in 2014/15.’
