The Federation comprises of Buglawton Hall residential school for boys aged 11-16 in Congleton, Cheshire, day provision for KS3 children at Southern Cross School in Chorlton and Meade Hill School in Higher Blackley and KS4 day provision at Castlefield Campus in Hulme and Wythenshawe Campus in the south of the city.

Governing bodies have a strong focus on three core strategic functions:
• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
• Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
• Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The Full Governing Body meetings are once a term and are held at the Castlefield Campus site in Hulme from 6pm until 8pm. There also have two committees and most governors would be a member of one of the committees.
• Resources (e.g. Finance, Premises, Pay, Personnel, Headteachers Appraisal)
• School Performance and Improvement (e.g. School Improvement Plan, Quality of Teaching, Pupil Outcomes, Behaviour, Care, and Safeguarding)
