The Big Pancake Party 2019

18 Jan 2019 - 10:38 by michelle.foster

Did you know that approximately 1 in 8 British adults worry about not being able to afford enough food? The Big Pancake Party

Research through Church Urban Fund’s Together Network shows that food poverty is an increasing issue in this country with more and more families using food banks and children going hungry during summer holidays without their free school meals.

Through the work of Church Urban Fund’s Together Network they are working to change this but they need your support: will you join the Big Pancake Party on Shrove Tuesday on 5 March 2019 and eat away at hunger?

The idea is simple; get together with friends or family, eat pancakes, have a great time and raise funds for those in need. You could hold it in your home, school, church or community. It could be big or small, it could be on pancake day itself or on another day that works for you.

Here are some of the ways people are getting involved this year:
• have a non-school uniform day and have a pancake flipping race at break tim
• Invite a group of friends over for a Pancakes and Prosecco night – set a dress code, ask for a £10 donation from your guests and crack open the fizz
• Have a pancake breakfast before church on Sunday 3 March and invite the congregation to come along, ask for donations in return for some delicious pancakes
