gaddum, a leading Greater Manchester charity which champions the rights of carers throughout the year are hosting a range of events across Manchester for carers rights day. This national event taking place on Friday 30 November aims to highlight the realities of carers and those they support. The charity operate carers services in Bury, Manchester and Salford. 
Carers Rights Day is a national day which helps carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.
Out of 280,000 carers that are known in Greater Manchester, 70,000 (nearly a quarter) spend 50 hours per week as carers, higher than the national average. 24,800 (c.9%) are young carers aged under 25 which is 2% more than the average in England.
The charity are hosting a range of educational activities at multiple locations including:
Bury
• PRIDE in caring-LGBT carers rights event at Bury Town Hall in partnership with LGBT Foundation, Groundwork, Bury Council and Bury LGBT Forum.
Salford
• Triangle of care training by the national campaigner, Ruth Hannan previously from Carers Trust
Manchester
• Manchester Carers Network, Carers Rights Day / young carers transition conference in partnership with Manchester Young Carers group at The Studio.
