Equity Foundation - Change Something grants

The Equity Foundation, part of Equity Housing Group, will be officially launching in January 2013, but is has opened its Change Something grants programme which aims to help people make positive changes in their communities in Stockport, Trafford and South Manchester.

Community groups, registered charities, social enterprises or Community Interest Companies (CIC) can apply.

To be eligible, groups must:
• Consist of at least two community members who are 16 years or older
• Be based in Stockport, Manchester (south of the A636 Mancunian Way) or Trafford and have projects which benefit communities in those areas. (Groups outside of these areas may apply if their projects benefit communities in the designated areas.)
• Have a bank account
• Have an equal opportunities statement, a safeguarding vulnerable people statement and a Statement of Purpose or constitution, or related policies
• Carry out CRB checks, if appropriate. (The Foundation can offer help with this)

In addition, a representative from the applying organisation may be required to attend a networking event and to share their experiences through publicity opportunities.

Projects and activities should:
• Take place in the boroughs of Trafford, Stockport and Manchester (south of Mancunian Way (A635).
• Demonstrate a clear need or problem in a community and explain how Equity funding could support a solution.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

The first deadline for applications is: Monday 31 December 2012, 17:00
