Free counselling and emotional support service for young people in Manchester

Any young person aged between 11 and 19, living within the City of Manchester area can now get free online emotional and mental health support using a website called Kooth.com. They can sign up, choose an avatar (an online character) to represent them anonymously and have an online chat with a counsellor or use the many other features on the site such as
message forums and blogs.

Kooth’s fully trained and qualified counsellors can help with lots of different problems, including family problems, eating disorders, loneliness, bullying, anxiety and depression, and are available until 10pm, 365 days a year.

The City of Manchester’s three Clinical Commissioning Groups have commissioned this award winning service which is available over 30 regions across the UK, delivering more than 8,000 counselling sessions each year.
