It helps the North Manchester Communi-tea! - Whitemoss Club Story

26 Sep 2017 - 09:48 by helen.walker

Thursday 21 September saw the Whitemoss Club for Young People and ten Co-op volunteers organise a tea party for local people.

The Co-op supplied the food and some raffle prizes, and it gave everyone the chance to come together and make new friends. The term reducing social isolation is often used but the friendships made at the party could have a significant positive effect on this. The Co-op ’s involvement is a great example of how building relationships between the voluntary and private sectors can positively impact a community.

One of the Co-op volunteers described the event as ‘absolutely fantastic’. As today’s event was such a success, both Whitemoss and the Co-op will be holding a tea party in October and possibly a Christmas special in December!
