Jewson is giving away £100,000 to help build better communities

27 Feb 2015 - 09:55 by michelle.foster

Jewson are awarding funding of between £1,000 and £50,000 to community projects that will make a real difference to the lives of local people, now and in the future.

To celebrate and support the communities they serve across the UK, Jewson is offering local projects the financial support needed to help transform a vision – no matter how innovative and ambitious – into reality.

How it works
1. Nominate a project
Tell Jewson about your project. It may be a new roof for your village hall, a sensory garden for local school children or the renovation of a long-forgotten community building. Whatever it is, they want to hear about it.

2. Show Jewson what people power looks like
Once the nominations are in, a shortlist will be announced. If your project is lucky enough to make the list, you’ll need to call on your community to get behind it and vote, vote, vote.

3. See if you’re a winner
With voting closed, their panel will judge each entry and pick regional winners to receive support of £1,000 and £5,000. One lucky project will also walk away with the main £50,000 prize.

How to enter
It doesn’t take long to get involved and nominate a project. Just follow these simple steps.

Put it into words
You’ve got 300 words to sell your project – use them to win Jewson over. They want to know about your big idea and how it’ll benefit your community. Jewson especially like to hear about innovative and ambitious projects which make use of sustainable products and practices.

Bring it to life
Share some pictures. A picture can speak a thousand words. Even a few quick snaps will help them understand what you have in mind. If you have a video of your project or community, even better.
