Nurses, midwives and health visitors are invited to apply for awards which honour Mary Seacole's name and acknowledge her achievements. Proposed projects or activities should be designed to benefit the health needs of people from black and minority ethnic communities.
There are two award programmes:
The Mary Seacole Leadership Awards are worth up to £12,500 each and provide the opportunity to:
• undertake a specific health care project; and
• enhance personal effectiveness, leadership style, communication skills and the ability to influence.
The Mary Seacole Development Awards are worth up to £6,250 each and provide the opportunity to:
• undertake a project, or other educational/development activity, that benefits the health needs of people from black and minority ethnic communities; and
• develop leadership skills.
