Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee merger news

5 Aug 2016 - 10:22 by michelle.foster

Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) have announced that as of the 1 October 2016 they will be merging with LPC’s across Greater Manchester to form one Greater Manchester wide LPC.

This Greater Manchester LPC (name to be agreed) will include the following localities:
• Manchester
• Ashton, Leigh and Wigan
• Tameside, Oldham and Glossop
• Stockport
• Salford and Trafford
• Bury and Rochdale

Operationally, the Greater Manchester LPC will have locality leads supported by a central support team. Thus Manchester will have its own Locality lead who will be supported by a central hub to continue progressing their local work.

The LPC is now in a transitional period and they will be seeing some significant changes in the coming months.

The LPC would like to reassure stakeholders that they are very much committed to local work and will remain so. The LPC will therefore attend appointments and meetings that they have already committed to between now and the 1 October and they will be putting in place robust process to ensure these commitments are supported post October.
