14 Jun 2019 - 11:18 by michelle.foster

Dear Colleagues

I would like to invite you to consider becoming a formal member of the Manchester VCSE Health and Wellbeing Leaders Group.

The group is a coalition of the willing, leading on behalf of the wider sector and accountable back to the sector.

The aim is to bring together senior leaders from Manchester VCSE sector organisations with a key role around health and wellbeing. This group will look at a coordinated approach to VCSE representation across the city and will also focus on progressing both the Memorandums of Understanding that are currently being negotiated between Manchester Local Care Organisation and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Attached is a draft document which describes in more detail the purpose, functionality and accountability of the Manchester VCSE Health and Wellbeing Group for you information and consideration.

It is vital to the success of the group that you are committed to attending bi-monthly meetings.

Attending the first meeting of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Leaders Group or expressing an interest in it will be formal recognition of your application to be a member.

Attending regularly and showing focused commitment will ensure your membership.

This may be withdrawn if you are unable to attend regularly.

The group will be comprised of senior representatives of voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations which:

  • work in the health and social care sector in Manchester
  • can dedicate time and effort to strategic engagement on behalf of the wider sector
  • are willing to lead beyond their own direct interests including a wide range of smaller organisations and groups
  • are members of Macc – as a means of verification of being a bona fide Manchester VCSE organisation

The first meeting will be taking place on:

Friday 26 July between 10am-12noon at the Macc Office, 3rd Floor, Swan Buildings, 20 Swan St, Manchester M4 5JW.

For more information about this first meeting or to register your interest and attendance please contact Danielle Conway by email: [email protected] alternatively you can call the office on 0161 834 9823 and speak to a member of the Policy and Influence Team.
