Nesta 100 Day Challenge update

13 Dec 2019 - 11:47 by michelle.foster

NestaThe Manchester Local Care Organisation have collaborated with a charity called Nesta and their People Powered Results team to deliver three waves of the 100 Day Challenge. This challenge is giving each of the 12 Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) in Manchester 100 days to decide upon and rapidly test innovative ideas that tackle a specific health and social care issue. Danielle, Macc Health and Care Development Worker, has been involved in the challenge during this wave as a Catalyst for the Gorton and Levenshulme INT. Team GLOW (Gorton and Levenshulme Optimal Working) have been focusing on testing methods to reduce low mood in the female, South Asian population. Their tests have included:

1.Hosting women only health and wellbeing events
2.Creating safe spaces for women to come together to share skills and to make connections
3. Inviting women to take part in local radio training to boost confidence, develop skills and to have their stories heard

On Wednesday 18 December, the four teams involved in this wave have their 100 Day Sustainability Review. Each team will have the opportunity to present their successes, reflect on what has been tricky and to make a case to their team sponsors about what they would like to see continue after the challenge has concluded.
