What is Buengo?
Buengo is a new fundraising app that allows users to sell the things they no longer need and donate the proceeds to good causes - 
think digital charity shop! Buengo are aiming to raise more money for charities and community groups while bringing local people together. It launches on 1 March in Manchester.
How does it work?
Sellers post their item in the app and select the cause they want to donate the proceeds to. Buyers can browse local items and message sellers directly in the app to arrange collection of the item. When someone buys something, they pay using the in-app payment system and the proceeds are transferred directly to the cause.
Buengo even has a ‘News’ tab where you can send updates to your supporters about the work you are doing and let them know how money they raised is being spent. This opens up a whole new communication channel with your supporters (and it’s GDPR friendly!).
How can I benefit?
Buengo are inviting charities and community groups to sign up for a free profile on the app - this will allow users to fundraise on your behalf. By having a profile, supporters can choose you to receive the proceeds from their fundraising campaigns. When a supporter’s campaign ends, the proceeds (minus a 5% platform fee) will be transferred directly from Buengo to you.
