The Peter Quinn Friendship Group opened a new dementia café on Wednesday 14 September 2016 at St. Mary’s Parish Centre, Elbow Street, Levenshulme, Manchester, M19 3PY.
Marion Quinn, Manager of St. Mary’s Parish Centre has opened the Drop in/Friendship Group in memory of her father which she lost to Dementia with Lewy Bodies in April.
The group will meet every Wednesday from 10am - 1pm in the Lounge area of the parish centre on a regular basis.
The groups aim is to have a safe and happy environment for Dementia sufferers and their Carers and an opportunity to meet regularly with other people with memory problems and a chance to exchange experiences and to give and receive emotional support. There will also be available: hand massages, nail painting, singalongs, playing cards, games, dominoes, chair exercises, plus regular support from an Admiral Nurse.
