Putting the Great in Greater Manchester: RECLAIM Project launches #GreatManc campaign

8 Apr 2016 - 09:42 by michelle.foster

What do you think makes Greater Manchester so great? That’s the question being asked by Greater Manchester’s youth leadership charity, RECLAIM Project, as part of their new #GreatManc campaign.

From the 11 April, Greater Manchester will begin to see the face of 16-year-old Elijah, one of RECLAIM Project’s Powerhouse Pioneers, on billboards featuring a point from their recent manifesto:

“Discarding intolerance makes a great society, embracing our differences makes our Manchester Greater.”

The charity will also be distributing postcards across Greater Manchester that look to the public for messages of positivity.

If you find a postcard, RECLAIM Project are asking you to write a message to their young people about everything great about Greater Manchester. Or you can share your messages on Twitter using the hashtag #GreatManc.

RECLAIM Project’s young people are seeking to put an end to the intolerance they experience on a daily basis because of who they are, what they choose to be or where they’re from. As we are looked to as the Northern Powerhouse, RECLAIM Project believe it's time to stand in solidarity.

RECLAIM Project is a Greater Manchester based youth leadership and social change organisation. They work with working class young leaders to create social change campaigns including their recent Moss Side Pride campaign, Teens’ Speech Video and Disruptive Leaders movement.
