Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2021 open for nominations

15 Jul 2020 - 13:31 by michelle.foster

queens award for voluntary serviceEvery day ‘ordinary’ people make an extraordinary difference through volunteering with groups across the UK. Chances are that most people know at least one group whose work and volunteers immediately spring to mind as being exceptional. However, most people will not have thought of nominating these groups for the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Each year the Queen recognises the extraordinary achievements of groups and the volunteers they rely upon. These are the groups, charities and social enterprises whose volunteers really make a difference to the lives and communities of those around them by generously donating their time, knowledge, skills and experience.

However, the remarkable groups and their volunteers can only be recognised if somebody takes the time to nominate them. Somebody who knows the difference that they make. Could that ‘somebody’ be you?

The form to nominate a group for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is straight forward, and you can do it online by clicking here

Winners get a certificate signed by the Queen and a domed glass crystal. Representatives from the group may also be invited to attend a royal garden party.

So, if you know a group whose volunteers deserve to be recognised, nominate them by 25 September 2020.
