The See More, Learn More, Go Further Greater Manchester Project

9 Oct 2017 - 12:25 by michelle.foster

The See More, Learn More, Go Further Project is a Greater Manchester initiative led by the NHS aimed at encouraging children to have regular eye sight tests as currently only 1 in 5 children have had their eyes tested.

Children who see well are better able to access education, find it easier to engage in lessons and can achieve more academically. They also find it easier to participate in sporting activities and interact with their peers with confidence.

With this in mind the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership have developed resources including a lesson plan that supports PHSE or science based lessons about the eye and eye health, leaflets that can be distributed to parents and a short PowToon presentation

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership have liaised with opticians, pharmacies, GP surgeries and dental practices in the GM area to promote a collaborative approach to the campaign by providing an e-resource pack, which can be found attached.
